Chinese Export Octagonal Armorial Plate - Chase

Description

Chinese export armorial porcelain plate, Qianlong ca. 1750. Of octagonal form with the arms of Chase in the center. The rim with a colorful honeycomb border centering flowerheads. The service made for Sir Richard Chase, Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1744.

Condition

There are three minute repaired chips to the rim. One small chip to one corner of the rim; another small chip to the footrim. Very little surface wear. Some losses to the gilt along the extreme edge of the rim consistent with handling. No cracks.
