Oil-on-canvas still life by American artist Chester E. Pennington (b. 1928). Richly detailed and evocative of mid-century realism, this 16'' * 20'' work (21.5" x 24.5" including frame) features an original, hand-painted composition of persimmons and pomegranates arranged in a footed bowl placed on a wooden chest of drawers.

Painted with exquisite control of light and texture it is a quietly sophisticated work perfect for connoisseurs of traditional still life and regional American realism. Signed lower right: C. F. Pennington 1997
