Frontier by Justin Wheatley is an acrylic painting on canvas of a white barn and its attached shed standing on a wide band of ochre ground.

The composition is square and divided plainly: pale sky above, deep golden-brown earth below, and the buildings straddling the line between them. The main barn carries a broad gray gambrel roof that peaks high and drops steeply on both sides, with a single black vent at the apex. Its white wall is laid in with broad horizontal strokes, the edges left slightly ragged so the boards show. A lower shed with its own gray roof extends to the right, punctuated by three small black windows and a doorway. Wheatley leaves the ground and sky almost featureless, so the eye stays on the silhouette. Brushwork is visible throughout, and the paint carries around the sides of the canvas.

Signed lower left.

The painting is unframed, but ready to hang.

Measures 48 in. high by 48 in. wide.
