This mid 20th century basket from France is finished in tan, worked in wicker. Its form follows honest, well-proportioned lines typical of well-made pieces from its era and region. As a basket, it was built for genuine daily use, and it still carries the practical weight and presence that implies. Age-appropriate wear is visible throughout, the kind that comes from decades of real use and care rather than artificial distressing. A piece like this anchors a space through age and authenticity rather than novelty.
