Description
A striking Italian majolica fruit topiary with the abundance of a garden harvest and the elegance of an all-white palette. Apples, pears, citrus, grapes, and leaves are modeled in relief and stacked into a generous cone above a fluted urn. The glossy glaze catches the light across the smooth fruit and textured foliage, giving the monochromatic piece depth from every angle. In the style of Della Robbia, Mario Buatta, and Sister Parish.
At 16.5 inches tall, it makes a substantial centerpiece for a dining table or a sculptural accent on a mantel, console, or sideboard. It would sit beautifully in a traditional dining room, a garden-inspired interior, or among blue-and-white ceramics. The hollow fruit topiary and pedestal base are two separate pieces.
