This original 19th-century Japanese woodblock print measures 9 1/2 x 14 inches. Created by the renowned ukiyo-e artist Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900), this artwork features the kabuki actor Sawamura Tosshō II, recognized by the cartouche. This piece has been trimmed on all sides, eliminating the original margins, which significantly impacts its value. Colors appear somewhat faded, and there are light surface scratches and abrasions present, particularly in the dark background areas. The reverse side shows significant scratching and abrasion, possibly due to previous mounting, along with minor soiling and soft corners. Despite its flaws, the artist's signature 'Kunichika ga' and the publisher's seal (Iseya Kanekichi) remain intact, adding to its authenticity and collector interest.

Shipping:

Pick up and buyer arranged shipping is always welcome. We offer in-house shipping for items that can ship through common carrier. All items will be professionally packed at a reasonable rate. If you paid for the item via Lodestar Auctions or Proxibid we will have your items packaged and send you a link to choose and pay for shipping on the Lodestar Auctions Website.

**Important** Live Auctioneers has their own shipping program. We find it to be very expensive and slow. This is the rate you see advertised when bidding. We do not recommend using them. If you do use them you must checkout via Live Auctioneers and choose LiveShip at checkout. If you pay via Live Auctioneers and want our In-house shipping you must choose self-arranged shipping at checkout. If you checkout via Lodestar Auctions this does not apply. I apologize if this is confusing, Live Auctioneers purposely arranged it this way to push their own overpriced shipping service. We are not happy about this and are trying to make it work.

Issues:

All items sold as is. We do our best to describe accurately and take plenty of non-touched up photos to best represent the item. Any lost or damaged item due to shipping must go through the carriers. Buyer pays any return shipping costs regardless of situation.

Thanks for your patronage and happy bidding!
