This beautiful surimono by Yashima Gakutei, titled 'Six Venerable Sages', dates to around 1820. The print measures 7 x 8 1/4 inches and has significant soiling, rubbing, thinning, fading, ink smudges, and small voids. The paper exhibits extensive discoloration, giving it a toned appearance. Colors are faded and muted from their original vibrancy, and the surface shows considerable rubbing with loss of pigment and detail. The bottom edge is irregularly torn and has missing paper, with the white pigment on the central drum-like object showing significant cracking. This piece is from a renowned artist, Yashima Gakutei, who was active from approximately 1815 to 1852. He is celebrated for his contributions to the surimono genre, incorporating elegance and intricate detail into his works.

Shipping:

Pick up and buyer arranged shipping is always welcome. We offer in-house shipping for items that can ship through common carrier. All items will be professionally packed at a reasonable rate. If you paid for the item via Lodestar Auctions or Proxibid we will have your items packaged and send you a link to choose and pay for shipping on the Lodestar Auctions Website.

**Important** Live Auctioneers has their own shipping program. We find it to be very expensive and slow. This is the rate you see advertised when bidding. We do not recommend using them. If you do use them you must checkout via Live Auctioneers and choose LiveShip at checkout. If you pay via Live Auctioneers and want our In-house shipping you must choose self-arranged shipping at checkout. If you checkout via Lodestar Auctions this does not apply. I apologize if this is confusing, Live Auctioneers purposely arranged it this way to push their own overpriced shipping service. We are not happy about this and are trying to make it work.

Issues:

All items sold as is. We do our best to describe accurately and take plenty of non-touched up photos to best represent the item. Any lost or damaged item due to shipping must go through the carriers. Buyer pays any return shipping costs regardless of situation.
