Striking pair of early hand-carved wooden altar candlesticks, likely Italian or Spanish in origin, dating to the 18th century. Each candlestick features an architectural baluster form with deeply faceted carving and original silver leaf over gesso, now beautifully oxidized to a soft grey patina with darker undertones.
