Hanging pot racks, particularly those made of copper, became popular in kitchens during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They served a dual purpose: organizing kitchenware and adding a decorative element, often becoming a focal point in the room. Copper was favored for its durability, heat conductivity (though less relevant for a rack), and aesthetic appeal, developing a rich patina over time. This 15" round rack has twelve 2.5" heavy brass hooks around the outside and one in the center. The band on the copper is 3" wide. Nice size for a small area..

These racks were often handcrafted or produced by skilled metalworkers, reflecting the artisanal traditions of the era. The hammered finish seen on this piece is a common decorative technique that adds texture and visual interest.
