The piece has beautiful hand chased decorations throughout the piece. The rippled edge smooths into a hand chased scale background. The mid-section displays grand scrolls, leaves and flowers with a curved threaded decoration that grounds the base. There is a large cartouche on either side; neither has been monogrammed. The underside is marked with English hallmarks: The lion passant for sterling silver, the crown mark for Sheffield, and the date letter Z representing 1892. This piece is also marked with the maker's mark for Mappin & Webb. This piece is in excellent overall condition. The decorations are well defined.
