Chinese yoke back chair dated 1800-1850 from the research we've done. I acquired this chair as well as another set of chairs and a table from a retired marine of 30 years. The story he told me was that every year an officers club takes a trip to Okinawa. They get a few shipping containers and look around for antiques and furniture. They then head to china and fill more containers and ship them home. They then sell these pieces to pay for future trips to Asia. This chair is super comfortable and super rare. There does appear to be old repairs done on the handle but it's hard to tell if an old mistake or an old repair. The gentleman gave me a deal on 3 chairs and a table, therefore I believe we priced this super fair.

Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: The last owner appears to have used oil based polyurethane on this chair. We did a super fine sanding and loaded the chair with penetrating oils and finished it off with hand rubbed with coat after coat of danish oil, until it wouldn't accept any more. There does seem to be a repair made by one handle but difficult to tell if it was original mistake
