This painting is part of the Slow Down series, which began in 2021 and remains ongoing. It features a serene landscape with a palm tree, gentle waves, and a crescent moon. At the top of the painting, the words slow down are prominently displayed, forming a header that frames the imagery.

Higgins explores the interplay between text and image to convey a message and establish a reflective mood. The text draws from contemporary societal commentary, serving as a reminder to pause, appreciate the scenery, spend meaningful time with loved ones, or simply embrace moments of stillness. On a personal level, these words also act as autobiographical reflections for the artist, offering subtle wisdom and self-reminders.

The piece is painted with acrylics on a custom-made wood panel. Its neutral background is rendered in a muted greenish-grey tone, enhancing the overall calmness of the work.
