These framed rondels were most likely removed from Chinese robe from the 1800's.
Each was hand embroidered on silk using a combination of satin and couching stitches.
and a combination of silk and metallic threads.
Both the quality of materials and the quality of the embroideries indicate that these rondels were from a wealthy household .


the 2 larger rondels measure 5.75 inches across the diameter.
the smaller one with the donkey (my personal favorite is slightly smaller measuring 5.25 inches...
Framed is wood carved to resemble bamboo and painted gold.
