An enormous French basket from the late 19th century, likely used in the vineyards for collecting and harvesting grapes, if not in a bakery or boulangerie setting for displaying baguette & other breads. Long bamboo sticks in parallel arrangement are held to a sturdy wooden frame, surrounded by tightly-braided wicker sides. Two sturdy handles facilitate easy carrying of the load.
