A towering pair of 19th century French brass altar candlesticks from a cathedral or church. The center of each bobeche is fitted with a (pricket) spike for a pillar candle, surrounded by a pierced brass crown of unmistakable fleur-de-lis design. Both shafts of the candlestick columns are undecorated apart from a station at the center widening like a toy top, balancing on a circular base. The metal has aged to a matte bronze patina that will become an eye-catching statement on a mantel, console, or dining table. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition. Sold as a pair.
