Hugh Kappel (American, 1910-1982). Oil on canvas painting depicting abstract geometric motifs, ca. 1972.

Kappel was one of the founding members of the New York Abstract Expressionist movement. He exhibited at both the seminal 9th Street Show and the following Stable Gallery Show.
Height: 48 in x width: 48 in x depth: 1/4 in.

Condition

Some scuffs and losses to the paint layer throughout. There are areas within the color fields that are slightly different and likely were additions by the artist. The work is not framed. Some wear to the edges.
