Striking 1970s acrylic bas relief titled "The Racers" by American artist Marilyn Lilygren. A dynamic regatta scene unfolds across four sculpted panels, each featuring abstracted sailboats in motion-rendered with vigorous texture and rhythm in a palette of sun-faded creams, ochres, and seafoam greens.

Created using Lilygren's signature process of layered acrylic polymer medium and metallic pigments on masonite, the piece is etched, built up, and hand-painted to create a deeply dimensional Brutalist effect. The piece is then sealed in a subtle glaze that highlights both the natural variation in the material and the kinetic sweep of the scene.

Professionally framed in a vintage metallic edge over warm taupe / mushroom brown linen, this work is a bold fusion of Brutalist texture, mid-century coastal flair, and tactile minimalism. A standout piece for collectors of American studio art, yacht club memorabilia, or vintage modernism.
