This exquisite vintage Chinese fan painting features a contemplative "Sleeping Under Pines" composition rendered in ink and light color on paper. The artwork depicts a scholar in a moment of tranquil repose beneath the sweeping boughs of a gnarled pine tree, situated beside a gentle stream to evoke a sense of harmony with the natural world. This serene scene is accompanied by a beautifully calligraphed Tang Dynasty poem that enhances the scholarly atmosphere of the piece. The fan leaf is presented as a mirror heart mount within a classic wood frame featuring traditional decorative hanging hardware at the top. The painting showcases authentic age-related toning that highlights the traditional brushwork, delicate atmospheric washes, and elegant poetic inscription.
