Description
A rare and highly collectible Mid-Century Modern mobile bar cabinet designed by Florence Knoll for Knoll International. This exceptional piece features the original manufacturer's paper tag from the Knoll International GmbH, Stuttgart production facility in Germany, firmly establishing its authentic 1950s/1960s pedigree.
Hans Knoll established the Stuttgart division to manufacture premium American designs explicitly for the high-end European market. As a result, these European-labeled production runs are significantly scarcer and more sought after by global collectors than standard US variations.
The drop-down door opens smoothly to reveal the interior bar configuration. Features a clean, white laminate bar-mixing surface designed to resist stains, alongside two original glass shelves on the right side. The interior wood grain matches the exterior perfectly and shows minimal signs of use.
The cabinet highlights Florence Knoll's legendary architectural minimalism. It features a beautifully grained, rich wood veneer body tightly encased in a minimalist black square-profile steel angle frame. The upper edge features her iconic integrated, flush-recessed black leather pull handle. Engineered for flexible utility, the unit rolls effortlessly on its original Rhombus Rollen swivel casters
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: Good vintage condition consistent with age and use. There are some dings on the edges of the wood and some wear on the metal. The original leather pull shows wear but is still quite sturdy. The casters and door mechanism operate smoothly.
