The streamlined form of this low Chinese side table draws from the austere designs of Ming-dynasty furniture. Lightweight and open, the cube-form table has square-corner legs linked with floor stretchers and topped by elegantly curved braces. The legs are concave to simulate a beaded edge and the corners are rounded to soften the angular lines. Traces of brown lacquer add texture and color, beautifully framing the exposed elmwood of the rectangular tabletop.
