A striking silhouette elevates this gnarled burlwood object into an incredible natural sculpture. The organic wooden form recalls the tradition of Chinese scholars' rocks (gongshi), unusual stone formations displayed as sources of beauty and creative inspiration. Formed by the contours of a tree burl or root, the wooden sculpture captures the inimitable beauty of the natural world, shaped with dramatic twists and patterned by the swirling currents of the grain.
