Monumental abstract painting on canvas titled Africa, created in 1988 and signed "mary heebner" on the reverse. The verso also carries the title and date, providing direct identifying evidence for the work.

At more than seven feet wide, the horizontal composition is built from sweeping blue, gray, cream, plum, and restrained red passages. Layered atmospheric forms and gestural lines create a commanding focal point for a large living room, hospitality interior, gallery wall, or design-led commercial space.

Mary Heebner is a California artist whose practice encompasses painting, collage, handmade paper, photography, and artist books. This work dates from an active late-1980s period in her career; no specific exhibition history is represented for this painting.
