A dramatic chrome wire lyre-back accent chair from the 1960s American Hollywood Regency period - 48 inches tall, with an ornate scrollwork fan back that fans into a full peacock spread at the crown. The frame is welded chrome-plated wire with complete scrollwork construction throughout. All welds are intact, all scroll curves are present and undamaged. The chrome shows surface dullness consistent with six decades of age - no pitting, no structural corrosion. Can be polished to a brighter finish.

The seat has been reupholstered and is not original. Current upholstery is in good condition with no tears or loose seams.

At 48 inches tall, this is the rare tall-back throne version of the American mid-century Hollywood Regency scroll chair. The standard version of this style runs 28-33 inches. This one commands a room and reads as sculpture. A natural fit for a jewel-toned Neo Deco or Hollywood Regency bedroom, or as the single dramatic accent in a layered interior. The ornate scrollwork peacock fan back follows the design tradition made famous by John Salterini - intricate wire scrollwork that makes heavy metal read as delicate and sculptural.
