This late 18th century New England Chippendale pine blanket chest is a fine example of the sturdy yet elegant furniture that furnished early American homes. Constructed of solid pine, the chest features three graduated drawers below a lift-top compartment, a design that combined storage versatility with the clean, functional lines of Chippendale style. The applied molding along the top edge and the shaped bracket feet lend refinement to what was originally a practical household piece.

The warm surface shows a rich, time-earned patina that highlights the grain of the pine and gives the chest authentic character. The drawer pulls were replaced at some point in its history; one of the brass pulls is now missing its face, though the hardware remains in keeping with the traditional style. Its compact proportions make it adaptable as both a decorative accent and a useful storage piece in a modern home.

This chest remains in nice antique condition, consistent with age and normal use. The surface bears expected wear, marks, and scratches from centuries of use, all contributing to its charm and authenticity. With its New England origins, historic surface, and classic Chippendale form, this blanket chest would appeal to collectors of early American furniture and those looking to incorporate genuine history into their interiors. 49h x 37w x 20d
