Description
A striking Henriot Quimper oyster service, featuring a large master serving plate and six 8.75" individual oyster plates, all hand-painted and decorated by Guy Trevoux, one of the most respected painters associated with the Henriot workshops.
Decorated on a dramatic black ground, each piece features finely rendered shells and marine motifs in rich ochres, greens, iron red, and crisp white. The dark ground amplifies the painterly detail and gives the set a bold, graphic presence that stands apart from more traditional Quimper palettes.
The master plate retains its original Henriot Quimper label, a detail collectors prize and an important marker of authenticity. Artist-decorated oyster services of this caliber-particularly those offered with a proper master-are increasingly difficult to find intact.
Equally suited for refined entertaining, display, or serious French faience collections.
