Handsome vintage solid brass oval trough planter or jardiniere with an elongated form, substantial rolled rim, horizontal reinforcing bands and beautifully aged original surface.
The simple utilitarian design is elevated by its brass construction and decades of naturally developed patina. Rather than the bright polished finish commonly seen on decorative brass, this piece has matured to a wonderfully muted combination of antique gold, bronze and brown, with irregular oxidation and surface variation that emphasize its age and character.

Its low, elongated proportions make it especially attractive as a tabletop jardiniere or centerpiece, filled with orchids, greenery, topiaries or seasonal arrangements. It would also work beautifully on a console, mantel or deep windowsill.
