A striking and emotionally charged 1980s black and white photographic portrait by Lance Evans, titled "Pascal". Image captures a shirtless man mid-inhale, a cigarette hanging from his lips as plumes of smoke swirl around his intense, unflinching gaze. The subject's expression is raw, direct, and intimate--an evocative study in masculinity, vulnerability, and defiance. Shot in rich monochrome, Evans uses tight composition and dramatic lighting to draw the viewer into a visceral and personal moment.
Photograph is framed in a sleek black metal frame with a three inch white mat that complements the stark minimalism of the work. Artist's signature is located in lower tight corner.
Photograph has letter from the Living With Aids Fund on reverse side, and most likely was part of a charitable contribution when artists were increasingly using their work to bring visibility and support to the AIDS crisis during the late 1980s.
