Faux bamboo is the signature of Chinoiserie and Hollywood Regency rooms, and the ink blue gives it a Palm Beach Regency, coastal edge. The tall, narrow proportion suits an entry wall, and as a pair they flank a sideboard, a console, a bed, or a doorway. In the style of Dorothy Draper, Billy Baldwin, and James Mont, they belong in a room built on color and pattern.

Vintage pieces carry imperfections in the original and the newly applied finish. The finish is hand applied and varies from piece to piece, and mottling, brush texture, and variation in the layered color are part of the finish, not defects.
