Add an authentic touch of mid-century bohemian elegance to your home with this stunning, oversized 31-inch vintage Indian brass tray. Masterfully handcrafted in India using traditional hand-chasing and engraving techniques, this substantial solid brass piece features an extraordinarily detailed continuous grape-and-vine motif sweeping across its face, framing an ornate center mandala pattern. The perimeter is framed by a heavily scalloped, decorative fluted rim characteristic of antique Anglo-Indian thalis or charger plates.
A striking, statement-sized metalwork tapestry or wall plaque.
Table Top: Perfectly suited to sit atop a wooden folding spider-leg base or stand to create a traditional Anglo-Indian tea table / coffee table.
This piece is in vintage condition with an authentic, untouched aged matte patina. The natural oxidation highlights the depth of the hand-etched linework beautifully. The rim remains physically sound and straight, allowing it to rest beautifully as a tabletop surface. Note: Left unpolished for collectors who prefer historic patina, but can easily be shined up to a brilliant bright gold finish with standard brass cleaner if desired.
