An intriguing original expressionist portrait attributed to German-born contemporary artist Hans Feyerabend, dated 2004 and featuring a mysterious gentleman wearing a classic fedora and high-collared coat.
Rendered in a sophisticated monochromatic palette of soft blue-gray, slate, charcoal, and ivory, this captivating composition showcases expressive brushwork, minimalist detail, and a remarkable sense of character. The gentleman's penetrating gaze and slightly parted lips create an atmosphere of intrigue, while the abstract architectural background adds depth and a cinematic quality.
The painting bears an apparent "HF 04" signature and date in the lower right corner.
Beautifully presented in a substantial distressed black wooden shadowbox frame with gold interior trim and a recessed white mat, the artwork offers a sophisticated gallery-style presentation.
The reverse retains a Maria Reyes-Jones Studios label, providing an additional detail of the artwork's presentation history.
A wonderful addition to a collection of contemporary figurative art, expressionist portraiture, or eclectic interiors. Particularly appealing displayed individually or alongside other works by the artist.
