Just in,
This large Mid Century Pastel Portrait of an African-Caribbean Woman, by Malkin

This striking, original mid-to-late 20th-century figurative portrait is executed in soft pastel on paper and safely housed under protective glass in a classic black and gold frame.
Signed "Malkin" by the award-winning Florida regional artist, the artwork depicts an African or African-Caribbean woman captured in a reflective, serene profile pose.
The piece features a masterful, luminous contrast between the rich, deep tones of the subject's skin and a vibrant, textured backdrop built from energetic strokes of ochre yellow and pale sage green.
A saturated orange-red headwrap anchors the visual composition, beautifully balancing the soft folds of her peach garment. The velvety blending of the pigments showcases the artist's superb technical command of the pastel medium, making it an excellent acquisition for collectors of mid-century American modernist portraiture or regional Florida estate art.
