1920s Italian Art Deco Chinoiserie Four-Panel Hand-Painted Screen with Gold Gilt - Sage Green
A striking and sophisticated 1920s Italian Art Deco Chinoiserie four-panel folding screen, exquisitely hand-painted and accented with gold gilt. This piece beautifully captures the refined intersection of Art Deco symmetry and European Chinoiserie influence, a hallmark of luxury decorative arts from the early 20th century.

Each panel is set against a muted sage green ground and features stylized scrolling foliage, floral elements, and ornamental motifs arranged within elegant arched reserves. The composition is highly balanced and rhythmic-reflecting the structured geometry of Art Deco design-while retaining the romantic, exotic inspiration of Chinoiserie.

Fine gold gilt highlights and borders add dimension and a soft luminosity, contrasting beautifully with the aged green surface. The finish exhibits a desirable period patina, including subtle craquelure and tonal variation consistent with authentic early 20th-century craftsmanship.

The four panels together create a continuous, architectural composition, making this an exceptional statement piece suitable for both traditional and modern interiors.

The reverse side is finished in a complementary green tone, allowing for versatile placement as a room divider, backdrop, or wall-mounted installation.
