This charming mid-century 6 drawer modern dresser and single drawer nightstand set exudes a minimalist sophistication that has only grown more desirable over the decades. Crafted in the 1950s or early 1960s, the piece reflects the clean lines and practical design ethos of post-war American furniture making, likely originating from a regional manufacturer in the Midwest or California. Both the six-drawer dresser and the companion single-drawer nightstand are constructed of solid hardwood and engineered wood panels, finished in a smooth, warm white satin painted finish that has aged gracefully while retaining a subtly matte sheen.

The drawer pulls are a standout feature-svelte, horizontal pulls in brushed brass (possibly parcel-gilt steel) that lend a soft glimmer and contrast beautifully against the chalky white surfaces. The pulls rest atop slightly recessed faces, a subtle nod to the geometric play often found in early modernist furniture. Each drawer glides on wood runners, a telltale sign of pre-plastic construction methods, providing an authentic tactile experience that modern reproductions simply don't deliver.

The nightstand, modest in footprint but generously proportioned, features an open lower niche perfect for books or display, or a cubby for the right waste basket while the upper drawer provides just enough hidden storage. Its stackable appearance-photographed here atop the dresser-suggests versatility in layout, though each piece can easily stand alone in a bedroom, guest room, or hallway.
