Crafted in France circa 1930 and attributed to the celebrated Austrian-German designer Michael Thonet, this elegant stool showcases the timeless appeal of bentwood furniture. The circular seat is handwoven in traditional cane, offering both strength and lightness, while the sculptural base is constructed from interlaced bentwood hoops, forming a harmonious geometric silhouette. The design reflects Thonet's mastery of steam-bent wood techniques. Its versatile form allows for a variety of uses: it may serve as extra seating in a den, study, or game room, as a charming side table beside a chair or sofa, as a low footstool, or even as a decorative plant stand. Both functional and stylish, this piece embodies the enduring elegance of classic European design. The stool retains a rich walnut patina that highlights the warm tones of the wood, and the cane seat is in excellent condition, commensurate with age and use
