"The lady in red
is dancing with me
Cheek to cheek
There's nobody here
It's just you and me
It's where I want to be
But I hardly know
This beauty by my side
I'll never forget
The way you look tonight"
-The Lady In Red, Chris de Burgh, 1986

There is something magical that happens with that particular combination of gender and color that fascinates and captivates us. Take this original portrait for instance. There is something alluring about the lady's gaze as she looks directly into our eyes. Caught in an unguarded moment she appears relaxed; confident in the power of her beauty even when stripped of every artifice. It's all there in those eyes that twinkle with amusement at our inability to keep from falling under her spell even now as we start to hum, "The lady in red....."

This striking contemporary portrait rendered in shades of red of a woman captured in an unguarded moment is painted in acrylic on a wooden 'box" an is intended to be displayed as shown with no need for a frame.
