Description
Felt collage mounted on acid free board, within white-painted shadow box frame. Signed by artist on verso.
Sam Sidney grew up in New York and now lives in Charleston, South Carolina. She studied Studio Art at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, and earned a Masters in Art Education from NYU. For many years Sidney worked as an illustrator, but it wasn't until quarantine that she started working with felt. She vowed to do an art project with her children each day and serendipitously discovered a small box of felt which she turned into collages. Each felt piece is cut out completely freehand to create her inimitable portraits of celebrities, pets, food and more.
