Description
Long:660cm(259.84in), Width:33cm(12.99in)Handscroll of Landscape Masterwork by Emperor Qianlong, collected by the Imperial Palace. The scroll head is wrapped with red brocade woven with twisting floral patterns, affixed with an ivory silk label inscribed in ink: "Landscape Masterwork Scroll by Emperor Qianlong, Imperial Palace Collection". A gold-sprinkled mounting panel precedes the painting, bearing the imperial regular script title "Pure Realm of Wisdom Root". The main painting is executed in light crimson wash on rice paper, depicting expansive rivers, layered peaks, woods and sandbars with refined, tranquil brushwork. Delicate texture strokes render mountain rocks, constructing an ethereal, distant landscape. Multiple colophon sections follow the painting, filled with critical poems and collection inscriptions by successive literati and court officials in running and regular scripts, interspersed with collector seals. The aged paper bears warm yellow patina with dense, ancient ink tone. The scroll retains its original palace mounting including silk borders and separating panels, fully conforming to imperial mounting standards. The landscape painting and successive appraisal colophons form an integrated whole, a long scroll painting preserved in the Qing imperial court collection.
