Description
Length:70cm(27.56in) Width:46cm(18.11in)This work depicts an eagle perched on an ancient pine, a fine bird-and-flower painting by Huang Zhou. Bold splash ink renders the eagle’s plumage with rich tonal variation. The eagle’s eyes are vividly highlighted, and talons are powerful, conveying imposing vigour. Gnarled pine branches and sharp pine needles are sketched with forceful strokes. Free and unrestrained brushwork captures both form and spirit, fully expressing the eagle’s majestic bearing. Housed in original hanging scroll mounting, good condition.
