Description
Length:80cm(31.50in) Width:57cm(22.44in)A representative work of owl theme by Huang Yongyu. Painted in freehand style, the owl perches on red branches, one eye wide open and the other half closed, with a witty and innocent expression. Rich layered ink captures the texture of feathers. Bold vermilion brushstrokes render the branches. The seal script inscription “Beneficial Bird” on the right echoes the painting, full of charm. Concise brushwork and exaggerated forms combine childlike fun with literati sentiment. Original silk mounting, a classic flower-and-bird painting by Huang Yongyu.
