Description
Length:93cm(36.61in)Width:32.7cm(12.87in)Vertical scroll?Pine?and?Rock Painting, attributed to Shi?Tao of Qing Dynasty, ink?on?paper, antique original mounting with black roller ends. Executed on aged crack?pattern paper, the work depicts gnarled ancient pine and grotesque rocks purely in ink. The pine trunk twists powerfully with dense, crisp pine?needles rendered in unrestrained brushwork. Adjacent lake?rocks are textured by varied?ink washes, showing rugged and solid quality. A long cursive?calligraphy colophon is inscribed on the right side, whose bold?free calligraphy blends harmoniously with painting. Multiple artist?seals of Shi?Tao and collector?seals are scattered across the sheet. The unrestrained brush?style conveys grand and vigorous spirit. Pine?and?rock symbolises integrity and nobility, possessing fine artistic and collection value
