Height:5.8cm(2.28in)Width:4.5cm(1.77in)Weight:60g(0.132lb)This is a porcelain famille rose conjoined snuff bottle made in the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty. Two square bottle bodies are connected as one, each fitted with a tapered copper stopper. One bottle has a blue ground and the other yellow ground, fully decorated with scrolling foreign lotus flowers in rich bright colours. On the front reserved white panels, one side depicts a cat beneath grape vines, symbolizing blessing for longevity and wealth; the other side shows a cicada on willow branches, meaning "achieve instant fame". Both bases bear red regular script marks “Tongzhi Nian Zhi”. The ingenious shape and lively famille rose painting make it a delightful late Qing scholar’s curio.
