A striking combination of rich cobalt blue, ornate gold detailing and classic European elegance, this vintage set of seven Rosenthal Continental "Charlemagne" dinner plates brings a sense of occasion to any table.

Crafted in Germany, each porcelain plate features a deep cobalt border embellished with intricate gilt scrollwork, latticework and delicate floral motifs. The crisp white center provides a beautiful contrast, allowing the elaborate border to take center stage.

Dating to approximately the 1970s-1980s, these plates reflect the neoclassical influence of traditional European fine china. Their dramatic color and detailing feel equally at home in a formal dining room or a more contemporary, collected setting. Pair them with gold flatware, crisp white linens and crystal stemware for an elegant tablescape, or mix with modern pieces for a fresh grandmillennial look.

Each plate bears the Rosenthal Continental Germany backstamp and measures approximately 10.25" in diameter.

In very good vintage condition, with glossy porcelain, no noted chips or cracks, and light surface wear to the gold decoration consistent with age and gentle use.
