This mid-century Goebel porcelain labrador retriever puppy, crafted during the West Germany era, captures a moment of pure, unfiltered playfulness.

Measuring 14 inches wide, the figure is rendered in warm honey-brown and soft beige tones, its glossy glaze lending a lifelike sheen that accentuates every curve and contour.

From the front, the puppy appears mid-roll, one paw lifted as if reaching out, the other extended forward in a gesture of motion. Its head tilts gently to the side, ears flopping with asymmetrical charm.

The eyes are wide and expressive, with a subtle glint that suggests curiosity or delight, while the black nose anchors the face with a touch of realism.

Paw pads are gently defined, and the fur texture-though stylized-is delicately painted to suggest movement and volume.

From the rear, the hind legs stretch outward in a carefree kick, one slightly more extended than the other, creating a diagonal rhythm across the form. The tail is tucked subtly beneath the body, integrated seamlessly into the overall flow.

The transition from the darker ochre tones of the back to the paler cream of the belly is smooth and organic, showcasing Goebel's mastery of shade.

Light dances across the glossy surface, highlighting the muscular contours and gentle folds, bringing this exuberant figure to life from every angle
