More About This Item:
This Harden drop-leaf gate leg table offers a thoughtful blend of traditional design and everyday versatility. Crafted with a rich wood finish, it features a classic gate leg structure that allows the table to expand or collapse depending on your needs.

The drop-leaf design makes it especially practical for smaller spaces. When fully extended, it provides ample surface area for dining, entertaining, or display. When folded down, it reduces to a compact 14" * 36", making it easy to tuck against a wall or use as a side table.

The gate leg supports swing out smoothly to hold the leaves in place, allowing the table to transition from a compact rectangle to a more open, oval form. Whether used as a coffee table, occasional dining table, game table, or entryway piece, it adapts easily to a variety of settings.

Brand Legacy:
Harden Furniture, founded in 1844, built a strong reputation for producing high-quality, traditional wood furniture designed to last for generations. Known for its craftsmanship and durable construction, the brand became a trusted name in American homes.

The Sleepy Hollow Restorations collection reflects Harden's commitment to preserving classic furniture forms while making them functional for modern living. Pieces from this line emphasize heritage design, practicality, and enduring style.

History of Gate Leg Tables:
The gate leg table dates back to the 17th century, originally created as a space-saving solution for smaller homes. Its design features hinged leaves supported by swinging legs ("gates"), allowing the table to expand when needed and fold down when not in use.

Popular during the Elizabethan period and beyond, gate leg tables became valued for their adaptability-serving as both compact side tables and larger dining surfaces. Today, they remain appreciated for their combination of functionality, charm, and timeless design.
