Description
The Artistry
An exceptional hand-pulled woodblock reproduction of Utagawa Hiroshige's "Night View of Matsuchiyama and the San'ya Canal," originally published in 1857 as part of the One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. This is one of the few prints in the series to feature a full portrait of a person-a geisha returning from a banquet at one of the famous restaurants near the Imado Bridge. The shimmering lights of the Matsuchiyama Shoden temple and the glitter of stars reflecting in the water make this one of Hiroshige's most evocative nighttime scenes.

Visuals: Features masterful "Bokashi" (color gradation) to create the fading light on the horizon and the soft glow of the lanterns.
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: Grade: Excellent Vintage Condition.
Details: The dark pigments are exceptionally well-preserved and deep. The Washi paper shows a uniform, light creamy age-toning typical of a high-quality mid-20th-century vintage edition.
