Striking vintage original modernist seascape depicting sailboats navigating a dramatically rendered coastal shoreline. Dating to approximately the 1960s-1970s, the painting features energetic, heavily textured brushwork and a saturated palette of deep ocean blue, turquoise, emerald green, white, ochre and golden yellow.
The composition captures the movement and atmosphere of a windswept day at sea, with multiple white-sailed boats set against rolling water and a rugged shoreline. The expressive handling of paint gives the work a distinctly Mid-Century Modern character, bridging Abstract Expressionism and modern coastal landscape painting.
Presented in its original period frame with a wide linen-textured inner surround and slim metallic trim.
The reverse retains an original red The Art Shop, 705 Lucerne Ave., Lake Worth, Florida gallery/framing label, providing an appealing piece of South Florida provenance. The Art Shop was a longstanding Lake Worth art gallery and framing establishment.
No artist signature has been located, and the work is being offered as an unsigned original painting.
An excellent large-scale statement piece for a Mid-Century Modern, coastal, Palm Beach, nautical or contemporary interior.
