Height:3.4cm (1.34in) Width:3.7cm (1.46in) Weight:60g (0.132lb)This is a Han Dynasty Hetian jade seal. The jade is mild and lustrous, naturally stained with reddish-brown patina. The seal knob is carved as a winged mythical beast in recumbent posture, with its head raised and mouth open. Fine feather patterns decorate its wings. The square base is adorned with scrolling motifs on the sides, and the seal face bears archaic seal script characters. It is a fine example of Han jade seals with great ritual and collecting value.
