Description
Height:6cm(2.36in) Width:6.5cm(2.56in) Weight:140g(0.309lb)Carved from premium Hetian white jade, the stone bears fine, mild texture with gentle luster. The natural reddish russet skin is cleverly retained and used for the goose’s crown and lotus flower, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship. A plump goose is rendered in full round carving, turning its curved neck backward while holding a lotus stem in its beak with unfurled petals. Fine incised lines delineate feather layers with smooth and vivid lines. The sculpture features full and rounded form and delicate soft carving technique, typical of jade works in Qing Dynasty. The Chinese character for goose shares partial pronunciation with “myself”, while lotus symbolizes integrity. The motif of goose holding lotus carries the auspicious meaning of pure heart. Suitable for handheld appreciation, it is a fine Qing white jade ornament.
