Height:10cm(3.94in) Width:17cm(6.69in) Weight:1150g(2.535lb)Carved from Hetian jade, the ornament bears mild jade texture covered by naturally penetrated dark brown and black aged patina throughout, with deep antique patina on surface. The horse bends its head low in the posture of wading across waves. Its mane is delicately incised, while saddle and trappings are decorated with grid patterns. Its four hooves stand on swirling wave base with fluent curved lines. Adopting openwork and line carving techniques, the sculpture features simple, solid form and concise lines. The horse symbolizes immediate success, and the sea-crossing motif represents auspicious meaning of braving wind and waves, a fine jade decorative carving of Ming Dynasty
