Fantastic "Twist & Shout" album sleeve signed on the back in blue ballpoint pen by The Beatles band member George Harrison. Measuring approximately 12" x 12" and in very good condition, with some signs of scattered wear, including some slight staining and toning of the white colors, not affecting the signature. Record is not included. This autograph was obtained at George Harrison's home at 174 Mackets Lane, Liverpool, England in 1963. The original EP was released on July 12th, 1963. Provenance: comes with a letter from the husband of the original recipient reading: "The signature was obtained by my late wife Janet as a young teenager in Liverpool. She and a friend worked out where each of the Beatles lived - they were still living at home at the time - and just went there and knocked on the door. At George's his mother opened the door and took the sleeve inside and George signed it. Janet has added her then address on the top left hand corner of the sleeve which is now just legible. The girls couldn't find Ringo's house and they weren't successful at either John or Paul's homes. I don't have a date for the signature but the EP was released in July 1963 so I assume it was around that time. Janet would have been 14 years old then." Accompanied by a Tracks COA. An exceptional early George Harrison autograph obtained at his family home in Liverpool in 1963, during The Beatles' meteoric rise to fame. Particularly appealing is the remarkable firsthand provenance, documenting how a teenage fan visited Harrison's home and had the sleeve signed after his mother answered the door. A wonderful piece of early Beatles history, capturing a time when the band members were still accessible to local fans, just as Beatlemania was beginning to take hold.
